His voice and passion as a color analyst have been a staple of Marlins baseball for nearly three decades, and the celebration will honor him for his dedication to the club.
The festivities will start pre-game, recognizing him with a tribute video highlighting his most memorable moments in the booth. His family will then take the field, as his three granddaughters throw the first pitch to him. There will be additional events and tributes throughout the game, but the club encourages fans to attend the pregame festivities.
Hutton has a couple months left in his career in the booth, and he exits the MLB sphere for the first time since he entered as a player in 1966. He spent 12 seasons as a player in the league, splitting time between the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays.
Not ready to be done with baseball, he became a broadcaster for the Montreal Expos in 1982, embarking on a career in the booth that would go on for more than four decades. He first joined the Marlins during the 1997 season and has remained with the club since.
