The Kelce-Swift wedding was the talk of the sports and entertainment world when it happened at Madison Square Garden on July 4.
Coach Reid was among the exclusive list of guests, which is why he could attest to Kelce’s fitness coming into the 2026 training camp after what he observed.

Coach Reid was asked by the media after the first day of Chiefs training camp about the status of the 36-year-old Kelce, with Reid making it clear that his star TE is in shape because of all the dancing he did during his wedding to Taylor Swift.
“He looked pretty good. He stayed in shape; he did a lot of dancing at his wedding.”
The Chiefs are holding their 16th consecutive training camp at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri, with the entire team practicing together for the first time on Wednesday.
Injured QB Patrick Mahomes reportedly participated in the 11-on-11 drills, with his status not 100% clear for the start of the season.
Reid has already highlighted Kelce’s importance as a leader for the Chiefs heading into next season, Kelce’s 14th season in the league and with the franchise.
Will Travis Kelce retire after the 2026-27 NFL season?
There were retirement rumors around Kelce towards the end of the season before the TE summarily put those rumors to bed by announcing his return for this season.

With QB Mahomes targeting a Week 1 return from his torn ACL, which led to their 6-11 season last year, this season might serve as a ‘Last Dance’ for the duo that’s won three Super Bowls together.
Training camp is off to a good start as well, with Kelce reportedly making a notable fingertip catch from Patrick Mahomes during 7-on-7 drills and connecting with him multiple times.
With his post-NFL life with Taylor Swift waiting for him, Kelce might take the year to see how he and the Chiefs are performing before making a decision.
All he will be focused on right now is returning to the Super Bowl and winning his fourth ring.
