“Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

A senior Hamas official confirmed the agreement has been reached with the Board of Peace to relinquish its weapons, which is contingent on the deployment of an International Stabilization Force to Gaza and Israel upholding its obligations under the October ceasefire agreement.

Also, two tanker ships travelling through the Strait of Hormuz while under American air escort were attacked by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards.

Here’s the latest on the Iran war on Friday:

Iran hits two tankers trying to pass through Strait of Hormuz

Iran’s Revolutionary Guards said they had struck two tankers attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz under the “air escort” of the U.S. military.

In a statement, the IRGC said the “non-compliant oil tankers … were struck and brought to a halt, while four other oil tankers quickly changed course and returned to their previous positions.”

The Iranian military said the tankers had attempted to pass the strait via “an undeclared route,” the U.S.-backed alternative to Tehran’s designated waterway closer to its own shores, AFP reported.

Iran has effectively maintained control over navigation through the Strait of Hormuz since the outbreak of the war on Feb. 28, requiring vessels to obtain permission and pay transit fees before using the waterway.

Iran hits air base in Kuwait

Iranian military has targeted military infrastructure at an air base in Kuwait, state media reported, per CNN.

The attack targeted the Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base, Press TV reported early Friday.

Kuwait’s army and state media have yet to confirm the attack.

The Iranian army said the attack was in response to U.S. strikes on Qeshm island. Iran has previously targeted American infrastructure at military bases in neighbouring countries in retaliation for U.S. strikes on its country.

Trump says Hamas agrees to ‘complete disarmament’

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that a historic agreement has been made to secure the disarmament of Hamas and other armed groups in Gaza.

In a Truth Social post , Trump wrote: “Today, the Board of Peace reached a HISTORIC agreement for the COMPLETE DISARMAMENT of Hamas and all other armed groups in Gaza.”

“This is a monumental step toward lasting PEACE and SECURITY.”

Ghazi Hamad, a senior Hamas official, confirmed to CNN that an agreement has been reached with the Board of Peace to relinquish its weapons, which is contingent on the deployment of an International Stabilization Force to Gaza and Israel upholding its obligations under the October ceasefire agreement.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, another militant group in Gaza, said on Friday that reports of the agreement were “inaccurate.” The group was party to the ceasefire along with Hamas.

A Board of Peace official told CNN that Hamas and other armed factions would ultimately hand over their weapons to the committee, with police weapons transferred first and personal weapons last.
