Sky Sports report that Newcastle United are set to formally announce Matthias Jaissle as Eddie Howe’s replacement today (Sunday 2 August 2026).
The final paperwork having been completed on Saturday.
Eddie Howe’s exit was officially confirmed on Friday with the departing NUFC boss having stayed on to hold the fort until his replacement was ready to come in, Howe having informed the club some weeks ago that he would be leaving.
It had already been made public by Sky Sports that Newcastle United will pay £9.5m (€11m) compensation to Al Ahli.
With their information being that Matthias Jaissle has agreed a four-year contract with NUFC.
