ARLINGTON, Texas - After a tough weekend sweep, the Texas Rangers had a chance to respond on Monday night as they kicked off a six game home stand at Globe Life Field.
Unfortunately for Texas, it was a tough night on both sides of the ball as they fell to the San Francisco Giants 6-1.

The Rangers committed a season-high five fielding errors and stuck out a total of 10 times on the night.
“We played probably our worst game of the year tonight quite honestly” Rangers manager Skip Schumaker said after the game.
“I just felt like [we] just unfortunately made a lot of errors and it comes us some runs and we just couldn’t get anything going against [Giants starter Logan Webb], Webb was really good, he’s been good for a long time but unfortunately it was just kinda a game that hopefully we can froget about quickly.”
Five errors marks the most Texas has committed in a game since April 8 of 2023 and now has 12 multi-error games this season after having just 10 all of last season.
“It’s just a tough day overall for a lot of guys on the defensive side” Schumaker said. “Those days happen and errors do happen, unfortunately a lot of them happend tonight so hopefully we got them all out of our system tonight and can get back to clean baseball tomorrow because we’ve been fine, it’s just five is a lot.”
Rangers starter Cal Quantrill was able to turn in yet another solid start going six innings allowing three runs but just one of which was earned while striking out four.
“I’ve said before, it starts with starting pitching and Cal did a really good job tonight” Schumaker said.
“If you told me [Quantrill] would go six innings allowing one run, that would have been amazing and he was, he was really really good unfortunately we just didn’t play clean behind him and in this league when you don’t play clean baseball, any team will capatolize and they did…”
The lone bright spot on the offensive side of the ball for Texas was Ezequiel Duran, who went 4-for-4 with a ninth inning home run that prevented a shutout.
Duran finished a triple shy of the cycle and accounted for a career-high-tying four of the Rangers seven hits on the night, marking his second four hit night of the season. These two teams go at it again on Tuesday night.
