The Bruins will be hoping that more of their players can break out in 2026-27. Due to this, let's look at two young Bruins who could have breakout years for the Black and Gold next season.
James Hagens
James Hagens is the Bruins' biggest breakout candidate to watch next season. The 2025 seventh-overall pick has a ton of potential and could end up becoming a major part of the Bruins' forward group because of it. Due to his high offensive skill, it would not be surprising if he broke out for the Bruins next season. If he can become a key offensive contributor for the Bruins as a rookie next season, it would be huge for the Original Six club.
Michael DiPietro
With the Bruins trading Joonas Korpisalo to the New York Rangers, back-to-back AHL goalie of the year Michael DiPietro should finally get his shot in Boston. When noting that he dominated the AHL over the last two seasons, he is certainly a breakout candidate to watch for the Bruins next season. If he can take that next step and be a reliable backup, it would benefit a Bruins club that needs every point it can get in the tough Atlantic Division.
