Texas Tech basketball officially adds UCF transfer Jamichael Stillwell

While there are still a few moving parts elsewhere, we can officially start looking at the Texas Tech basketball team with at least one new addition.
The Red Raiders announced the signing of UCF transfer Jamichael Stillwell on Friday. Stillwell recently earned an injunction in Georgia to earn a fifth year of eligibility, one of many lawsuits brought against the NCAA for not including the 2022 high school recruiting class into the five-for-five eligibility model that has gone into effect this year.

Stillwell played last season with the Knights, averaging 3.4 offensive rebounds per game. His career has taken him to stops at Miami Dade College, Butler Community College, Milwaukee and UCF and will now include time his final season at Texas Tech.
Other lawsuits pertaining to Texas Tech include last week's injunction issued in Colorado that grants all members of the 2022 recruiting class a fifth season of eligibility, which includes Darrion Williams and Donovan Atwell. Williams entered the transfer portal during the spring window in anticipation of the five-for-five rule coming while Atwell signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Chicago Bulls for Summer League action.
The NCAA is currently appealing the Colorado ruling, so Williams and Atwell's potential returns to Lubbock are on hold for now. Stillwell earned his injunction separate from the Colorado ruling, allowing Texas Tech to announce his signing now.
Williams and Atwell were both part of another separate lawsuit in the state of North Carolina seeking their year of eligibility but dropped that case after the ruling in Colorado. Should the NCAA win on appeal and the Colorado ruling reversed, the pair can still refile their lawsuit again.
