Ahead of their first preseason game of the year, the San Francisco 49ers hosted the Tennessee Titans for a joint practice starting on Tuesday, August 11.

While there were plenty of interesting notes and moments to come from it, the most notable update was that the 49ers and Titans kept fighting.

According to Matt Lively of CBS Sports Bay Area, the 49ers and Titans got into eight fights in a ridiculous first joint practice.

49ers get into 8 fights with Titans during joint practice

"49ers joint practice notes: ... At least 8 fights between Titans and Niners," Lively reports from Tuesday's 49ers-Titans joint practice.

Getting into at least eight fights during this practice is a wild way for the week to start. Fights are normal during practices, but this is a ridiculous number.

What makes this a whole lot more interesting is that Robert Saleh, the 49ers' former defensive coordinator, is now the head coach of the Titans.

This is a familiar stomping ground for Saleh, and his players have reportedly been getting into it with the 49ers players during the joint practice session.

Not that things needed to be more interesting, but the 49ers and Titans face off on Thursday night in the first week of the preseason for both teams.

So not only is Saleh's team getting into fights with his former team, but they're doing so just two days before their first preseason game.

It's more likely that it won't mean too much for preseason Week 1, but it will be an interesting wrinkle to watch as the 49ers and Titans face off Thursday night in the first action of the NFL season for both teams.
