Pirates booked their place in the semi-finals after edging Durban City 2-1, while Sekhukhune United secured a dramatic 4-3 victory over AmaZulu.

The first leg between Pirates and Sekhukhune will be played at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00, with the match set to be broadcast live on SABC 1.

Sekhukhune will head into the encounter with plenty of confidence after beating Pirates last season. Babina Noko have shown that they can go toe-to-toe with the Buccaneers, and home advantage could give them an added boost as they look to pull off an upset.

For Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the priority will be to secure a positive result ahead of the return leg at Orlando Stadium. A win, or even a draw with an away goal, would put the Buccaneers in a strong position, while defeat would leave them under pressure heading into the second leg.

Pirates and Sekhukhune to renew rivalry

Pirates are the defending MTN8 champions and have won the competition four consecutive times. They will therefore enter the semi-final as favourites as they look to continue their dominance and lift the trophy for a fifth straight year.

However, Sekhukhune have already proven they can trouble the Buccaneers, setting up what promises to be a closely contested semi-final.
