Xbox Special Edition Translucent Green Controller Price, Release Date Leaked

Pricing and launch details for Microsoft's snazzy translucent green Xbox controller have leaked online.

Inspired by the iconic OG Xbox console, the Xbox Wireless Controller Special Edition X25 will launch on October 20, 2026 priced at $79.99 / £74.99 / €79.99, according to Dealabs' ever-reliable billbil-kun.
Microsoft will reportedly make these details official next week at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, with preorders set to go live on August 26. As yet, however, there's no word on the X25 Special Edition Xbox Series X — or at least, not word that has leaked.
Xbox announced its limited-edition Xbox Series X console variant inspired by the original Xbox back in June, in celebration of the brand's 25th anniversary.
The console and controller both sport a translucent green shell, allowing you to see all of the inner-workings of the machine and its pad. As you might expect, the console will come bundled with a matching controller, as well as the pad being able to buy separately. The console itself is expected to launch sometime this November.
Xbox does not appear to be holding a dedicated press conference at Gamescom, but will hold two days of livestreams showing off its extensive slate of upcoming titles in detail. Expect a look at games such as Gears of War: E-Day, Minecraft Dungeons 2, and Fable on Wednesday, August 26. The following day, updates for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, plus Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and much more will be discussed.
As for big new surprises... perhaps we'll see some pop up in the event's main Opening Night Live showcase? As ever, IGN will be reporting on that live next Tuesday, August 25.
