Browns vs Bills joint practice: What the Buffalo side is saying about CLE QBs, WRs, more
· Yahoo Sports
One of the biggest days in Cleveland Browns training camp, one that has been circled since it was announced, has come and gone. The Browns hosted the Buffalo Bills in Berea, Ohio, for a one-day joint practice ahead of the second preseason game of the year for both teams on Saturday.
An injury concern for DE Alex Wright puts a damper on the day, but Cleveland HC Todd Monken was fired up for what he saw and got to experience from the matchup between the Great Lakes teams.

The joint practice was a big deal for the Browns, hosting a Super Bowl-contending team with an elite quarterback in Josh Allen. The defense didn’t have the best of days, but seeming to belong on the field with the Bills is a big deal, not “banner-hanging” worthy, but a sign of a quality roster in Cleveland.
We scoured the internet, along with the help of our friends over at Buffalo Rumblings, to get an idea of what is being said about the host’s roster from the Bills side of things:
Overall Browns, Bills thoughts
Very productive day for both teams. A couple small pushes and shoves, but nothing that took away from the work they were doing. Love to see that in these joint practices. https://t.co/1BLa71ajFw

Would definitely note they were without multiple starters on both sides of the ball but the Browns aren’t a bad team https://t.co/dWLOjtgJ6M

Long day. But a really good one. I thought both Bills and Browns were really professional in how they operated today. Maybe the best joint practice I’ve ever covered in that respect. Good, productive work done on both sides.

I spent the day on the Bills D-Browns O field. Here are some takeaways:
— Carl Jones (@Jones11_) August 20, 2026
– Don’t think either unit “won”. Competitive battle
– Kaleb Elarms-Orr and Dorian Williams had big run stuffs in team
– Greg Rousseau flashed a lot. Both run and pass game
– Denzel Boston is a GUY (KC too)
Another day and another GREATTTT day of football baby! @Browns@BuffaloBills … Day 28 of camp. Every year I tell myself I will chill more the next year andddd I don’t. Don’t know any other way to do it, but let’s be honest, I love this!!!

On Deshaun Watson, Shdeur Sanders
#Bills Dion Dawkins with praise for #Browns Deshaun Watson pic.twitter.com/1BssEDtHu4

(After deleting a tweet due to a firestorm from Sanders’ fans:)
It's just not worth the losers filling my mentions for the next three or four days. They are truly relentless. Shedeur wasn't bad. He's just not as good as Deshaun right now, and the cult following has trouble coping with that fact. Sad, really.

#Bills reporter @SalSports of WGR AM 550 in Buffalo joins me to offer his thoughts on Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders following the joint practice. pic.twitter.com/HRJDlJJYWX

"The only real difference was I felt that when Deshaun had an opportunity to figure things out in the pocket and had time, he made a couple of better reads. I thought Shedeur Sanders had some nice moments, but when things got a little chaotic…I would have given yesterday's edge… https://t.co/7XRbCbr9Z0pic.twitter.com/nr8pLArJeu

On KC Concepcion (Who would have been in Buffalo, it seems) and Denzel Boston
I spent so much of the NFL draft cycle watching Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion.

Small sample size but I came away very impressed after the Bills-Browns joint practice. Should help CLE right away. pic.twitter.com/k8v16b5gtt
I’m just talking about the separation. He wasn’t always targeted, but he was running open.

If Cleveland can find a QB, look out.
The #Browns have two dudes at WR between Denzel Boston and KC Concepcion. https://t.co/ZLon4BXJbY
Cleveland WR KC Concepcion had a good day at the joint practice today, and Sal got to talk to the WR, who told Sal that he was expecting to be drafted by the Buffalo Bills. pic.twitter.com/srCepaTfQo

I'm sure we'll get more context from media on hand there via articles and podcasts later on this topic, but sure seems like the Bills have no answer for rookie KC Concepcion today. This is the third highlight clip I've seen from him this practice. Looks like the real deal 100% https://t.co/6edhEpzIqb

(In a free article on The Athletic. Who stood out from the other side?)
Buscaglia: This is an easy answer: Boston, one of the Browns’ rookie receivers. I was most interested to see how the Bills’ younger cornerbacks, Maxwell Hairston and Davison Igbinosun, would fare against someone who has drawn rave reviews so far through camp. Boston mostly got the better of those matchups, with Hairston taking the worse of it despite one solid pass breakup near the end of practice. Boston even won his one-on-one against Bills top cornerback Christian Benford on a third-and-2, where Boston released off the line and got a step on Benford with an inside slant for an 8-yard gain to extend the drive. It was only one day for us to see him, but the hype on Boston seemed warranted.
On Browns D (who did not have a great day)
Didn't post this earlier but Bills LT Dion Dawkins said he was sad Myles Garrett isn't in Cleveland anymore because he has to face him in Week 5 now in LA.

Then went on to heap all kinds of compliments on Jared Verse. Said he wants to shutdown any preconceived notions that… pic.twitter.com/tzLnkY6XSd
Good day at the office for Josh Allen against the Browns D that has some talented players in the secondary. Very surgical. pic.twitter.com/MmfW3EaNlF

Bills offense was excellent today, but here are back-to-back plays where Josh Allen was chased out of the pocket and threw it away…. pic.twitter.com/hw3xj5jKdE

Always interesting to hear what the other side has to say about
