32 Athletes From Madhya Pradesh To Represent India At Asian Games 2026

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A total of 32 athletes from Madhya Pradesh will represent India at the 20th Asian Games 2026 to be held from September 19 to October 4 in Aichi Prefecture and Nagoya, Japan.

he selected contingent includes 25 athletes trained at state sports academies and seven non-academy athletes. They will compete across 10 sports disciplines like athletics, cricket, canoeing (slalom & sprint), hockey, judo, rowing, sailing, shooting and soft tennis.

Judo player Yamini Maurya will represent India in the women's 57 kg weight category.

Cricketer Kranti Devi Gaud has been selected for the Indian T20 cricket squad. Hockey players Vivek Sagar Prasad and Neelakanta Sharma have been selected for the men's team while Ishika Chaudhary, Bichu Devi and Sushila Chanu will play in the women's team.

Kuldeep Kumar and Dev Kumar Meena will lead India's challenge in the men's pole vault event.

In 50-m rifle 3 positions, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Ashi Chouksey (Individual & Team) will represent India while Neeru Dhanda and Manisha Keer will compete in the trap event. Yogesh Choudhary and Jai Meena (Men's team, singles and mixed doubles) and Aadhya Tiwari (women's singles and mixed doubles) will compete in soft tennis.

Shikha Chauhan and Hitesh Kewat (kayak cross), along with Pallavi Jagtap, Reena Sen, and Pradhyumna Singh (canoe single), have been selected in canoe slalom, while Purohit Baroyi will compete in kayak double 500 m event in sprint. Poonam, Gurwani Kaur (Women's Four), and Anshika Bharti (Women's Quadruple Sculls) will represent India in rowing.

In sailing, a seven-member squad features Harshita Tomar, Sheetal Verma, Mahi Verma (ILCA-4), Shraddha Verma, Manu Francis, Prince and Ravindra Kumar Sharma across various classes, including 49erFX, ILCA-4, and 470 Mixed.

The 20th Asian Games will feature 469 events across 43 sports disciplines, hosted at 53 venues throughout Japan. Alongside traditional Olympic sports, the 2026 edition includes new disciplines such as Mixed Martial Arts and Virtual Taekwondo.
