Oregon HC sounds off on NFL players returning to college football

The latest chapter in the saga of players returning to college after being in the NFL has reached its tipping point, so it seems.

Over the past week, a group of former college football players was granted a temporary restraining order after a federal judge in Louisiana ruled in their favor. That ruling allowed them to enter the transfer portal, even though some of them are on NFL rosters. However, another ruling countered that one, and now things are in a bit of a standstill, and no one is quite sure what will become of it.
One of the players in the middle of all of this is Browns tight end Dae'Quan Wright. On Sunday, he was waived by the team, and ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that he is set to join LSU if he clears waivers.
This latest development has got the attention of several college coaches, but none seem to be as mad about as Oregon's Dan Lanning.
He spoke to the media recently and stated, "You’re a professional now, once you declare for the draft. So to let any of those players come back, fair or unfair to them, it’s unfair to the sport and I think it’s unfair to the players that are on current teams for those guys to be coming back."
This has directly affected the Browns, albeit with a player they waived, but it is still something that seemingly isn't going anywhere. Until the NCAA gets this under control, it is going to be interesting to follow.
