WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Fresh off of back-to-back WCAC titles, DeMatha football is looking to make it a three-peat in the DMV's top conference.
With legendary head coach Bill McGregor taking a leave of absence, DeMatha has brought in Bryce Bevill to be the team's head coach.

Bevill graduated from DeMatha in 1990 and brings experience as part of the staffs of the University of Maryland, Howard University and the New York Jets.
The Stags have a plethora of D-I talent -- headlined by four-star recruit Auburn commit edge rusher James Pace III (ranked No. 3 overall in Maryland Class of 2027 by 247 Sports), three-star Purdue commit defensive lineman Sean Saint Fleur (ranked No. 14 overall in Maryland Class of 2027 by 247 Sports), three-star Auburn commit safety Knyair Crumb (ranked No. 17 overall in Maryland Class of 2027 by 247 Sports), three-star Maryland commit running back Terrance Grant Jr. (ranked No. 19 overall in Maryland Class of 2027 by 247 Sports) and three-star Temple commit Kevin Nesbitt (ranked No. 35 overall in Maryland Class of 2027 by 247 Sports).
DeMatha opens its season Friday, August 28 hosting Archbishop Spalding.
