The Jacksonville Jaguars' initial 53-man roster is set following the cutdown deadline. But to get to that point, GM James Gladstone had to make a number of moves, which included a few difficult decisions.
With the dust now somewhat settled on all that took place on Sunday, here are several takeaways from the Jaguars' roster.

Jaguars roster four running backs
We saw the Jaguars carry four running backs for much of last season, and they're doing it again -- at least for now -- and that's not common around the NFL. Throughout camp, Abdullah had been productive on the ground and through the air, and while LeQuint Allen remains sidelined, Abdullah could handle the passing-down duties, not to mention that he has return experience as well.
Chuma Edoga the odd man out along the offensive line
Edoga provides versatility to the Jaguars' offensive line unit, able to play guard and tackle. However, the return of Cole Van Lanen, along with the recent trade for Daniel Faalele, has left Edoga on the outside looking in.
Wyatt Milum and Walker Little offer tackle depth, while Little, Faalele, Milum, and Jonah Monheim can all play guard.
A pair of 2025 draft picks left off the final roster
Fourth-round pick Jack Kiser and sixth-round pick Jalen McLeod were both waived. Kiser suffered an injury on the first day of training camp that kept him sidelined, while McLeod's play was up and down this summer, although he made a strong push at the end.
Other quick takeaways
- Jahlani Tavai was a late addition to the training camp roster, but he impressed and was particularly good as a blitzer. He brings special teams experience as well.
- Christian Braswell over Jabbar Muhammad was a surprise. Muhammad seemed to outperform Braswell for much of camp.
- Another UDFA makes the roster -- this year it's DE Bryan Thomas Jr.
