Report: Dianna Russini "absolutely" plans to return to sports media

On the same day that The Athleticissued its internal review of the Dianna Russini situation, word has emerged that Russini "absolutely" intends to return to sports media.

Via Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports, Russini has had discussions regarding several opportunities, "ranging from pro football insider to opinionist/personality." McCarthy adds that Russini expects to make her next move "sooner rather than later."
She has remained mostly silent since photographs with Patriots coach Mike Vrabel emerged on April 7, which were followed by other photos and videos from other outlets. Russini initially issued a flat denial of any inappropriate conduct. On April 14, in her resignation letter to The Athletic, Russini claimed that "commentators in various media have engaged in self-feeding speculation that is simply unmoored from the facts."
On April 9, Russini made a brief return to Twitter. It did not go well. After resigning, she deleted her Twitter account.
It will be difficult for Russini to return without telling her side of the story, in a way that is not "unmoored from the facts." Even then, there are basic questions of credibility that can't be ignored — including her embellished/fabricated claim that she FaceTimed a head coach for help in getting out of a ticket for texting while driving.
Here's the problem in a nutshell: Who will believe anything she says? If her next job involves offering opinions in an engaging and entertaining way, that's one thing. If her next job requires the audience to accept any factual assertions she may make as true, that will be a much tougher sell.
And Twitter remains a cesspool. If her next job entails resurrecting her account and posting there, it will be a wild ride on a regular basis.
