St. Paul Saints come back in ninth win in 10th in Omaha

For the second time this season, and the second time against the Omaha Storm Chasers, the St. Paul Saints came back to win a game they were trailing in the ninth inning.

Tanner Schobel’s sacrifice fly on Tuesday scored a run in the ninth tie the game and Kala’i Rosario had a two-run single in the 10th as St. Paul won 9-7 in Omaha, Neb. The Saints have won the first two games of the series.

Ricky Castro allowed four runs on six hits and three walks in three innings as St. Paul’s starting pitcher, but the offense picked up the pitching.

Alan Roden had an RBI double in the first inning and eventually scored as he stole third base and came home on a throwing error. Cody Morissette homered in the fourth and Jake Rucker followed with a home run in the sixth for the Saints.

The series resumes Thursday at 6:35 p.m. CDT.
