Carrick on Man Utd injury worry and his side’s mixed start to season

Manchester United boss Michael Carrick has played down concerns over Marcus Rashford after the forward was forced off during the 2-2 draw with Everton.

Rashford was withdrawn in the second half but Carrick suggested the decision was precautionary and praised his performance.
“He was just feeling a bit of something,” Carrick said.
“He’s done very well. As I said during the week, he’s done ever so well since he came back.
“I thought he looked really sharp and dangerous again today. That final moment didn’t quite drop for him, but nevertheless, I thought he created really good opportunities and gave us a big threat throughout the game.”
Carrick admitted the draw felt more like a defeat after United narrowly missed out on all three points but remains confident about his side’s start to the season.
“It’s not a great feeling, so it feels like a defeat,” he said. “It’s a bit of a cliché and an obvious thing to say at this stage, but we have taken the point and we can’t ignore that.
“But it feels like we should have had a lot more.
“I’s not that bad,” Carrick continued when asked about United’s mixed start to the campaign. “We were that close to coming away with three points.
“That’s football. There are little moments that we can deal with a bit better, but we’ll be fine.”
