according to SAWS, most of the country stays fine and cool today
Mpumalanga sees morning fog in places in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm.
Limpopo starts with morning fog patches in the south-east, otherwise fine and cool to warm.
North West enjoys fine and cool to warm weather throughout.
The Free State sees morning fog patches in places in the east, otherwise fine and cool to warm, but partly cloudy in the south.
The Northern Cape stays fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy with isolated afternoon showers and thundershowers in the south-east.
The Western Cape sees morning fog along the south coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but cloudy and cool with light rain along the south coast.
The UVB sunburn index here is “very high” today.
The western half of the Eastern Cape stays cool with light rain and morning fog in places along the coast, otherwise partly cloudy and warm to hot, becoming cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the afternoon.
The eastern half stays fine at first, otherwise partly cloudy and warm, but cool north of the escarpment, becoming cloudy with isolated showers and thundershowers in the west from the afternoon.
KwaZulu-Natal sees morning fog patches over the northern interior, otherwise fine and cool to warm.
The UVB sunburn index is “very high” here too.
why today looks calmer than the past few days
According to SAWS, Thursday marks a genuinely quiet day on the warnings front, no Yellow, Orange or fire danger alerts are currently in force anywhere in the country. It’s a welcome change after a stretch of fire danger warnings in the Western Cape earlier this week.
It’s always nice to get a day where the biggest concern is just remembering your sunscreen. Here’s hoping it stays this settled for a while.
