On Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons hit the field for a home game against the Carolina Panthers, but they might as well have not bothered to show up, as they found themselves down 34-3 at one point in the third quarter. The Falcons started Cooper Rush at quarterback again in this one, but he ended up being benched for Jack Strand after committing several turnovers.

At one point in the game, the audio on FOX inexplicably switched to a different game between the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets, which caused fans on X, formerly Twitter, to have a field day.

“Now FOX has the wrong game audio for the #Falcons game. The broadcast is literally playing another game. Metaphor for this Atlanta game at the moment,” wrote one fan.

“Is anyone else getting Jets audio watching the Falcons game or are the ghosts in my house messing with me?” wondered another.

It was a nice microcosm for the Falcons’ struggles in the game, as Atlanta turned it over on the first play from scrimmage and only saw things get worse from there.

Both Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa sat out once again in this one despite Penix Jr. having been medically cleared to play, drawing further confusion and outrage from the fanbase.

Things won’t get any easier from here for Atlanta, as the Falcons will next hit the field on Thursday evening for a tough road game against the Green Bay Packers. Kickoff is set for shortly after 8:00 pm ET.
