The 2027 Major League Baseball offseason is going to be one of extra significance for the Seattle Mariners.
Seattle took a giant step back after reaching the ALCS in 2025, taking the Toronto Blue Jays to seven games.
The disappointing season could lead to the firing of manager Dan Wilson.
However, Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller wrote that the Mariners should consider another coaching change.
"The bad news is that [Randy] Arozarena is one of the few bats that hasn't been a disaster in Seattle, and the Mariners need to figure out how to get Cal Raleigh, Julio Rodríguez and Josh Naylor back to what they were in 2025 while also figuring out a 2027 plan for third base and left field," Miller wrote.
Miller suggests the Mariners should fire hitting coach Kevin Seitzer.
"Even though Kevin Seitzer worked more than fine as the hitting coach last season, he simply hasn't been the bat whisperer that they've needed this year," he added.
Raleigh had a very down year after hitting 60 home runs on his way to a top-two AL MVP finish in 2025.
The catcher has been much better in August and September, but the Mariners need him to produce for most of a 162-game season.

While there's no guarantee Miller's suggestion to fire Seitzer will solve Seattle's offensive woes, a change may be necessary.
As a team, the Mariners' .692 OPS is tied with the Cleveland Guardians for 28th in baseball, and their .232 batting average ranks 29th.
If the Mariners can get their stars back on track with the help of a new hitting coach, they could be back in the thick of the postseason race this time next year.
