The Kentucky Wildcats have eye-popping amount of top-100 hoops players

Evan Miyakawa, the leader of EvanMiya.com, has one of the top analytics platforms for college hoops, and there's no doubt the busy season is commencing for him and many others with basketball just weeks from starting.

The Kentucky Wildcats have a top-25 roster, and despite missing out on Mark Mitchell, they're still expected to begin the season as one of the top-15 programs in the country. Mark Pope will easily have his most talented roster in Lexington in his third season with the Cats.

Leaving the spring and starting the summer, that caliber of roster didn't seem feasible for the Cats, as they were without Malachi Moreno and Milan Momcilovic, two of their best players. Both withdrew from the NBA Draft and decided to head back to the collegiate ranks, and Pope should be very grateful for those decisions.

That said, Miyakawa's platform recently ranked basically every player in the country, and three Cats cracked the top 100. Moreno came in 11th, Momcilovic 46th, and Zoom Diallo 67th. Expected starters Alex Wilkins and Kam Williams were, respectively, 608th and 250th. The drop from Diallo to Williams is obviously a huge cliff for the Cats, so there's a clear top three for Kentucky.

On top of that, here's how Miyakawa ranked the top teams in the country as well, with the Cats sliding in at No. 18.

Pope and company have their work to do as well.

The roster has talent, but it might be difficult to merge all those skills together. Moreno will need to take a signficant leap in his offensive efficiency, and Momcilovic will need to become more of an all-around playmaker in order to justify their top-50 rankings.

The Cats will kick their season off on November 3 against Manhattan and will face Kansas on November 10.
