The Bengals will be missing a piece of their passing game when they travel to Pittsburgh for Sunday's AFC North clash with the Steelers.
During Wednesday's press conference, Cincinnati coach Zac Taylor announced that wide receiver Andrei Iosivas has been placed on the injured reserve list after suffering a torn ligament in his thumb. Taylor told reporters that Iosivas underwent surgery on Wednesday morning.
There is not yet a specific timeline for Iosivas' return, but ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the 26-year-old is expected to miss four to six weeks. While Iosivas' absence isn't ideal this early in the 2026 season, Taylor believes the offense will be able to survive as the Bengals face the Steelers, Jaguars, Dolphins and Ravens over the next month.
"Several guys can step up, whether it's in the receiver room, tight end room. There are a lot of ways we're gonna have to fill that," Taylor said. "We have guys that will step up. They're gonna be given more opportunities. We expect those guys to step up and fill those shoes."
As The Athletic's Paul Dehner Jr. noted, Cincinnati may increase its usage of multi-tight end formations while Iosivas recovers. Of course, quarterback Joe Burrow will also continue to feed Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
