RWF RPF cracks sandalwood tree theft, arrests 3

An incident of theft of Sandalwood tree was reported inside the Railway Wheel Factory on the night of September 5, 2026. The incident was registered in Cr. No. 01/22026, U/s 3(a) RP(UP) Act of RPF Post, Railway Wheel Factory, Yelahanka and the enquiry Ms. Chirag was nominated as Enquiry Officer for further enquiries. Under the directions of Senior Officials, Railway Wheel Factory,2 teams were formed. Team-I headed by SI Chirag and Team-II headed by Sri Srikanth M Patil for early detection of the case. Surajbhan, Inspector/RPF/RWF, supervised both the teams. Both the teams worked jointly and put in a coordinated and sustained efforts for detection of the case and apprehension of the accused persons.
Further, both the teams scanned several CCTV footages of RWF west colony and in the local area to identify the vehicle and zeroed in on the vehicle of Shivamogga area. Accordingly, the team with the help of local police and analysis of CCTV footages apprehended the 3 persons responsible for the Sandalwood tree theft and recovered the entire Sandalwood tree which was cut and stolen on 20.09.2026. In addition, the implement used for cutting the tree and the car which was used to commit theft was also confiscated by the EO. All the 3 accused were produced before the Hon’ble SEO Court at Bangalore and remanded to 14 days Judicial Custody.
