The Philadelphia Eagles are just a few days away from kicking off their third game of the season on the road vs the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football. The Eagles recently reunited with a familiar face: tight end Zach Ertz, as the team deals with an injury to starter Dallas Goedert.

Now, head coach Nick Siriannihas spoken on Ertz’s status heading into Monday’s matchup against Chicago.
“We’ll go out on the field and see where he is,” said Sirianni, per Eliot Shorr-Parks of 94WIP.com on X, formerly Twitter.

Ertz might not be the same player he was several years ago for the Eagles, but he is still a reliable veteran presence who can act as a security blanket down the field, having recently played a similar role for Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders’ offense.
Meanwhile, the Eagles could be relying extra heavily on the passing game this week depending on the status of running back Saquon Barkley, who briefly left this past weekend’s win over the Tennessee Titans with a neck issue before returning, albeit with a limited workload down the stretch of the game.
The Titans’ game plan of making Jalen Hurts play as a pocket passer worked well for a while, but ultimately, Hurts burned them down the stretch of the game with a late drive, capped off by a touchdown pass in the closing seconds, to push the Eagles to 2-0 on the young 2026 season.
Now, the Eagles will face off against a Bears team that could be down to Case Keenum at quarterback after injuries to both Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent.
Kickoff is set for Monday at 8:15 pm ET from Chicago.
