Volkswagen quietly prices petrol-powered Amarok Aventura

Volkswagen has confirmed its announcement back in June by quietly listing a second petrol version of the Amarok on its online configurator.

Second ‘TSI’
Completing the local line-up following the debut of the Dark Label at the Kyalami Festival of Motoring in August, the Aventura becomes the recipient of the 2.3 EcoBoost engine until now only available on the step down PanAmericana.
Once again badged as a TSI, the unit makes an unchanged 222kW/452Nm, which is again routed to all four wheels through the Ford and General Motors co-developed 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Limited to 180 km/h, the Aventura will get from 0-100 km/h in a claimed 7.6 seconds, and consume unleaded at a rate of 9.7 L/100 km.
Still no W600
Supplementing the 3.0-litre Lion turbodiesel V6 that had been the sole option for the Adventura until now, the second EcoBoost model also bumps the Amarok range to 16 variants following the addition of it as well as the pair of Dark Label variants.
At the same time, the arrival of the EcoBoost-engine Aventura follows the announcement that the once confirmed Australian-developed Walkinshaw Amarok W600 has been shelved for the time after initially being approved for a fourth quarter arrival.

The second revision to the Amarok range after the discontinuation of the 2.0-litre bi-turbodiesel Panther engine in May, the Aventura TSI’s specification sheet is unchanged from its diesel sibling and as such, comprises the following:

Price
As with the rest of the double cab Amarok range, the Aventura 2.3 TSI 4Motion’s price tag includes a five-year/150 000 km warranty and a five-year/100 000 km maintenance plan.
