The 23-year-old is a Lazio academy product who spent the last few campaigns away from Formello. In 2024/25, he had a positive loan stint at Juve Stabia, which encouraged Cremonese to give him his first Serie A experience. However, the right-back was lost in the shuffle, especially after Davide Nicola’s sacking and the subsequent appointment of Marco Giampaolo.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Lazio management plans to address the contract renewals for those expiring in the summer of 2028 starting from January. The list includes important players like Nicolo Rovella and Gustav Isaksen, in addition to Floriani Mussolini, whose extension is deemed a priority for the club.
Romano Floriani is Among Lazio’s Lowest Earners
The Roman newspaper notes that the full-back has the lowest wages among Lazio’s first-team players. Indeed, Capalogy reveals that the 23-year-old earns a fixed salary of €100,000 per year, similar to backup goalkeepers Alessio Furlanetto and Davide Renzetti.

With Marusic recovering from injury, it will be interesting to see if Floriani Mussolini can maintain his starting role. But either way, the Italian is considered Lazio’s long-term answer for the role. On the other hand, the Montenegrin is 33, while Manuel Lazzari will most probably leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
