The Indiana Fever and the Las Vegas Aces are headed to a pivotal Game 3 showdown on Thursday night, and the drama between the two sides is ramping up a bit thanks to Sophie Cunningham’s social media behavior.

During Tuesday night’s Game 2 in Indiana, which the Fever won by a final score of 99-89, Wilson was involved in a high-profile verbal altercation with a fan in the stands. Now, leading up to Thursday night’s game, Cunningham posted a video on social media poking fun at Wilson following the incident.

Wilson’s Incident With a Fan

During Tuesday night’s game 2 loss to the Fever, Wilson went into the stands to confront a fan who was seen “pointing” at her. Wilson could then be seen pointing back at the fan.

The incident became the biggest talking point after the game and entering the pivotal Game 3 showdown on Thursday night.

While it’s not clear what the fan said or did outside of pointing at her, Wilson defended her actions after the game.

“With the baseline situation, I don’t know if you guys know me, but I don’t really get into the bull[expletive], I don’t,” Wilson said of the incident after the game.

“I try to play my game, keep it pushing. But if I’m just walking, because I had just got the foul, I’m chillin’, and I see a man come at me, taking steps towards me and pointing at me, I don’t give a damn what you said; I don’t give a damn how you said it, the tone. That is unacceptable. You don’t step towards me.”

‘Who would have ever thought?’

Earlier this year – even before her controversial comments on transgender athletes – Cunningham went viral for pointing at DeWanna Bonner, which quickly sparked some social media memes. So, given the recent “pointing” incident involving Wilson and the fan, Cunningham took the opportunity to poke a little fun at Wilson.

“Not trying to be dramatic, like at all, like seriously, I was just here having my morning coffee and, what a (expletive) comeback year for the point,” Cunningham said in a video on TikTok while smiling. “Who would have ever thought? Just who would have ever thought?”

This certainly adds to the drama heading into the make-or-break Game 3 between the Fever and the Aces on Thursday night.
