Meet your Blue FCU Girls Athlete of the Week nominees:

The following Fort Collins-area girls athletes are nominated for their performances from Sept. 28 to Oct. 3:

  • Avery Akers, Fossil Ridge softball: The SaberCat senior led Fossil to a city rivalry win, pitching a complete-game in the circle while allowing just one run. She also had two hits with an RBI in that 5-1 victory and added a home run in a win over Fairview.
  • Isa Hottman, PSD flag football: Hottman continues to fly around the field for a top-10 PSD squad. Last week, the Stars junior caught eight passes for 168 yards and two touchdowns in two games. On defense, she compiled 30 flag pulls with three pass deflections and an interception.
  • Jersey McCollum, Timnath volleyball: It's another nomination for the Cubs senior, and with very good reason. McCollum led Timnath to a big 3-2 win at Windsor last week with a phenomenal game, recording 13 kills, five blocks, four aces, 21 digs and 16 assists in an all-around masterclass.
  • Anya Rainbolt, Rocky Mountain volleyball: The Lobos senior had a big week in a 2-0 run for a surging top-10 Rocky squad. Rainbolt combined for 21 kills, five aces, 13 digs and 20 serves received as the Lobos took down Horizon and Erie in a pair of 3-0 sweeps.
  • Gabriela Wagner, Windsor softball: The Wizards remain unbeaten and No. 1 in Class 4A after a 3-0 week, and Wagner was a key part of another offensive explosion. The junior went 5-for-9 with seven RBIs, five runs scored, two triples and a home run in dominant wins over Poudre, Roosevelt and Erie.
