After a three week international break, starved of football, we’re itching to see Chelsea back in action.
It’s got to the point where even Xabi Alonso’s press conference later this week is going to be a major event. There’s a lot of catching up to do, especially when it comes to injuries. We are all curious to see how the various missing players have managed to recover in the last few weeks.

One player who should be ready to go for Saturday’s game is Romeo Lavia. He played more than 80 minutes twice for Belgium in the break, including against France last night. His manager Mark Van Bommel praised his efforts:
“Romeo came on as a substitute against Italy and played 85 minutes against France,” Van Bommel explained before last night’s game.
“He did a fantastic job. You can already assume that I won’t be starting him. Chelsea are being cautious with him, and so are we. We want to make optimal use of his qualities.”
Monday night to Saturday afternoon should be long enough even for the fragile Lavia to recover.
