After another strong week on the football field and volleyball court, eight athletes are up as nominees for the Caller-Times Apple Dental Center High School Athlete of the Week.
This week's nominees include a volleyball player who reached two major career milestones, a quarterback who accounted for five touchdowns, a running back who rushed for nearly 200 yards and several other players who delivered in key wins across the Coastal Bend.

Nominations for athlete of the week are due by 5 p.m. Monday and can be submitted through email at [email protected], by messaging the Caller-Times through its Facebook page, or on Twitter @CallerSports.
Students in all varsity sports are eligible and can only be named Athlete of the Week one time per season, per sport, and athletes from one school cannot win more than three consecutive weeks.
THIS WEEK'S NOMINEES
Destanee Hargis, Ray volleyball — Hargis surpassed 1,000 career digs and 500 career kills and had 17 digs, eight kills and two aces in a match against Carroll.
Camilla Aguilar, Bishop volleyball — Aguilar had 16 kills and four aces in a win against Falfurrias and 14 kills, five aces and 10 digs in a win against San Diego.
Audree Vasquez, Skidmore-Tynan volleyball — Vasquez had 17 kills, 19 assists and nine digs in a win against Refugio and 10 kills, 23 assists and nine digs in a win against Falls City.
Holly Baergen, Rockport-Fulton volleyball — Baergen had 12 kills and 10 digs in a win against Ingleside and 13 kills, 16 digs and five aces in a win against Moody.
Franky Villagran, San Diego football — Villagran completed 11 of 21 passes for 228 yards and six touchdowns in a win against Progreso.
Aaron Hinojosa, Veterans Memorial football — Hinojosa completed 13 of 14 passes for 277 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for 23 yards and a touchdown in a win against Weslaco East.
Kalli Rowe, Gregory-Portland volleyball — Rowe finished with 25 digs and three aces in a key win against Veterans Memorial.
Jimmy Tipton, Calallen football — Tipton rushed for 189 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries in a win against King.
