Smith-Njigba fell to No. 2 on the list with 481 receiving yards, trailing Dallas Cowboys star CeeDee Lamb, who claimed the top spot with 498 yards, placing the two stars at the center of an early-season race that remains far from settled.
JSN has continued to produce at a high level, but he recorded less than 100 receiving yards for the first time in a game this season against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, having recorded 76 receiving yards on five catches, as Seattle went on to win 30-23. Smith-Njigba is averaging 120.3 receiving yards per game and 15.0 yards per catch. Smith-Njigba also has six touchdown receptions, which adds to his brilliant body of work thus far this season.
The gap in the receiving yards race is narrow enough for Smith-Njigba to regain the league lead as early as next week. Next week may very well reshape the standings again. For the Seahawks, Smith-Njigba’s output has made him the focal point of the passing game and one of the league’s most dangerous early-season receivers.
