Western Railway Wrestlers Shine At 67th All India Inter-Railway Wrestling Championship

Western Railway wrestlers delivered an outstanding performance at the 67th All India Inter-Railway Wrestling Championship held in Varanasi. Displaying confidence, discipline and determination throughout the championship, WR’s wrestlers achieved the remarkable feat of winning the First Team Trophy in both the Greco-Roman and Freestyle categories.

According to a press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, Western Railway wrestlers secured an impressive haul of 19 medals, comprising 5 Gold, 3 Silver and 11 Bronze medals. The wrestlers dominated the mat, exhibiting exceptional skill and fighting spirit in their respective bouts.

In the Greco-Roman category, Sanjeev (55 kg) and Uttam Rana (130 kg) won Gold Medals, while Rupin (63 kg), Akash Poonia (72 kg) and Rohit Dahiya (82 kg) secured Silver Medals. Mohit Narwal (60 kg), Sachin (67 kg), Anuj Dahiya (77 kg), Manoj Kumar (87 kg) and Nitesh Kumar (97 kg) won Bronze Medals.

In the Freestyle category, Vijay Patil (61 kg), Saurabh Sehrawat (74 kg) and Praveen Kumar (97 kg) clinched Gold Medals. Sarvarn Kaushal (57 kg), Ajay Kumar (65 kg), Vijay Malik (70 kg), Parmit (86 kg), Akash (92 kg) and Aman Rathi (125 kg) secured Bronze Medals.
