“We’ve got the squad for it. We want to go into every match with 100 percent conviction. I’d rather play every three days than have a long break. The players want to play anyway," Kompany said at a press conference on Friday ahead of Bayern’s Bundesliga clash with FC Augsburg on Saturday.

“We have to beat Magdeburg in the cup – it’s like a final. But we also want to put in convincing performances in all the other competitions.”

The 40-year-old indicated that significant rotation is unlikely for the upcoming game against Augsburg, pointing out that resting players only becomes necessary when they are tired – which is not currently the case.

“When you talk about managing the workload, you’re always thinking about how you’re going to play in the upcoming matches. You don't always manage that when you’re a young coach. But it’s been seven years since I was in that position," Kompany said.

"You always have to give 100 percent; only then can you spread the workload. You only need to manage the workload when the lads are tired; that’s when you have to make good decisions, but that’s not the case yet. We’ll make sensible decisions for the team.”

Bayern currently have just one absentee, with Jamal Musiala set to miss the Augsburg game due to a thigh injury.

According to Bild, Serge Gnabry is the most likely candidate to replace the 23-year-old in the starting XI, with Ismael Saibari and Lennart Karl offering alternatives.
