Two-day tournament set to conclude on Friday at Rapid City

RAPID CITY — Rapid City Stevens grabbed a slim opening-day lead in its bid to win a third-straight state Class AA high school girls tennis championship.
The Raiders scored 300 points to take a 10-point lead Sioux Falls Lincoln, which has finished second each of the past two years, after matches on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026.

The tourney, which is being played at the Sioux Park and Parkview Courts, concludes on Friday.
Friday's schedule at Parkview includes consolation singles semifinals at 9 a.m. Central, followed by fifth-sixth place semifinals at 10 a.m.
The rest of the matches are scheduled for Sioux Park with singles matches including semifinals at 9 a.m., consolation semifinals at 10:15 a.m., third and fifth place matches at 11:15 a.m. and championships at 12:15 p.m. Doubles play will open at 1:15 p.m. with consolation semifinals and fifth-sixth place semifinals, semifinals at 2:30 p.m., fifth place and consolation championships at 3:30 p.m. and third place and championships at 4:15 p.m.
