The possibility of Harry Kane eventually making the jump to Major League Soccer continues to generate conversation, and former United States men’s national team international Brek Shea has an idea of where the Bayern Munich striker could end up.

Shea, a former MLS standout who earned more than 80 international appearances across various levels of the United States national team system, spent time with FC Dallas, Orlando City, the Vancouver Whitecaps, Atlanta United, and Inter Miami. He also had a brief spell in English football with Stoke City, Barnsley, and Birmingham City, giving him experience on both sides of the Atlantic.

Speaking about Kane’s potential move to the United States, Shea suggested that Los Angeles FC might be a more natural destination than Inter Miami, despite the Florida club’s appeal for someone who enjoys golf.

“I know he likes golf, so being in Florida would be great for him, but I think Inter Miami’s very South American and very Spanish spoken throughout the club — in and out. Maybe besides David Beckham. But I see him more like in a Los Angeles FC or something like that,” Shea told Jackpot City Casino.

Shea also made it clear that he would welcome Kane’s arrival in MLS, particularly given the England international’s ambitions beyond his current football career.

“But yeah, I hope he comes and plays MLS for a few years and then goes NFL if that’s his trajectory. But I’d want him to come play and I think he’d be successful. He’s been successful wherever he’s gone,” Shea said.

Kane, 33, has previously discussed the possibility of pursuing a career as an NFL kicker after his soccer career winds down. The Bayern striker has suggested that his experience taking penalties could provide a foundation for the transition, although he recognizes that making the switch would require considerable preparation.

A stint in MLS could potentially provide a bridge between the two sports, allowing Kane to continue playing soccer in the United States while exploring his American football ambitions.

For now, however, Kane remains focused on Bayern, where he continues to be one of the world’s elite strikers. Any move to MLS remains a possibility for the future rather than an immediate transfer prospect.

If Kane eventually decides to make the move, Shea believes he could thrive in MLS just as he has throughout his career in Europe. And while Inter Miami might seem like an obvious destination given its international star power, Los Angeles FC is the club Shea could envision welcoming the prolific Englishman.

As far as the NFL goes, well, let’s just continue to think this is a pipe dream for Kane. That jump is a lot easier said than done. It’s not impossible by any means, but how old would Kane be by that point, 40? The NFL, even for kickers or punters, is not exactly easy on the body.
