Texas A&M football is looking to find its identity in Week 7, as it prepares for its final non-conference contest of the 2026 season on Saturday against The Citadel.

The Aggies return to Kyle Field to host the Bulldogs for only the second time in program history, with the last meeting between the two teams being a 35-3 win for Texas A&M in 2006. Third-year head coach Mike Elko has led his team to a 3-3 record (1-3 in SEC play) through the first six weeks of the season, including an ugly 27-6 loss to the Missouri Tigers.

Texas A&M's struggles have been amplified by its lack of offensive success, ranking No. 113 in the FBS in total offense. While the defense has played significantly better, the unit has also struggled at times in recent weeks. However, the woes have allowed young stars like running back Jamarion Morrow and defensive tackle Brandon Davis-Swain to emerge.

Here are quotables from Morrow and defensive tackle Brandon Davis-Swain ahead of Saturday's contest against The Citadel:

Morrow provides an update on his health entering Week 7

"I'm pretty much 100%. I feel really good (and) all the cuts feel precise. I feel good, I'm ready to go," Morrow said.

Morrow's thoughts on the recent struggles from Texas A&M's rushing attack

"It's a team thing. Receivers got to do better blocking, we got to do better pressing the runs, we got to do better understanding where we're running, line has to do better getting a little bit more push. It's a team thing when it comes to the run game," Morrow said.

Morrow discusses the biggest frustration of the offense's recent struggles

"The way we practice is much better than what we're putting out on tape. That's the most frustrating thing is that we're not producing," Morrow said.

"We haven't been executing when it comes to game days," Morrow said. "We had a lot of penalties last week. It's been a lot of us shooting ourself in the foot. I feel like that's a lot of the reason we're not producing the way we should."

Morrow explains the offense's mindset entering this week

"Pretty much just trying to fix it, just trying to get better every week, trying to get better every day. (We're) just taking it day-by-day right now," Morrow said.

Morrow has confidence the Aggies can turn things around

"I've seen the way that we work in practice. I feel like we do great things in practice, it's just not clicking as of right now. That's the reason why I say I have confidence in this team," Morrow said.

Davis-Swain discusses the team's morale entering Week 7

"We're definitely focused. We know our goal for this Saturday (is) to come out and win. Everybody's working on technique (and) finishing. I think we're in a great mindset to come out and just keep going," Davis-Swain said.

Davis-Swain explains his thoughts and emotions from his first start as an Aggie

"I found out on Friday. Made the plays and definitely was excited... my first blocked field goal as well, so that was awesome," Davis-Swain said.

Davis-Swain on why he decided to play football at Texas A&M

"I would definitely say the coaching staff. They put the most d-linemen in the NFL and Coach Tone( Tony Jerod-Eddie) and Coach E (Elijah Robinson), they showed me (how) to be better technique-wise. Coming here, (you) learn more about the game and they explain all three levels to you," Davis-Swain said.

Davis-Swain on what the message has been like inside the locker room

"To stay focused. To come out and we still got to perform. (We) still got a game Saturday (and) still got to be prepared. We can't worry about the past anymore. The only thing we can do is just come out and play our game now," Davis-Swain said.

Davis-Swain's evaluation of the defensive performance against Missouri

"I think we played hard the whole game. They're a good team, they made plays and that comes with playing in the SEC, good football. We played hard, we didn't give up at no point and I feel like we just got to come out and make the plays," Davis-Swain said.
