Things are going from bad to worse for the Philadelphia Eagles as yet another injury has been added to the growing list ahead of the weekend.

Nick Sirianni has been dealt a number of big injury blows over recent weeks which have only added to Lane Johnson’s decision to hang up his cleats. Ahead of their game this weekend against the Carolina Panthers, it has been confirmed that quarterback Jalen Hurts will be out through injury.

On Thursday, it was reported that Hurts would miss the game as a result of a superficial blood clot. This comes just days after the Eagles touched back down on US soil following their game in London on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

As news of the Eagles’ growing injury report emerged ahead of the weekend, fans took to social media to share their concerns about the international games being played.

Philadelphia Eagles fans hit out over Jalen Hurts’ injury blow

It has been a start to the season to forget for Eagles fans as they have watched their team slip to a 2-3 record amid the numerous injury issues. However, losing their quarterback marks the biggest setback of all.

‘I can’t take this anymore…’ said one frustrated Eagles fan on X.

‘Ban international games,’ replied another.

The statement shared by the Eagles did claim Hurts suffered the initial injury against the Los Angeles Rams earlier in the month: ““On Thursday, October 8th, Jalen visited the training room after practice requesting treatment for his calf. He informed the medical staff he had been cleated during the Rams game on October 4th.”

‘What an insane start to the season. Each week has one upped the other. I hope everything is alright and that we see him again soon,’ said one concerned Eagles supporter.

‘Season is over,’ another simply replied.

There are clearly some supporters who believe the long-haul flights to the United Kingdom may have had an impact on Hurts’ issue. Players will have been advised to wear flight socks to maintain compression on their legs but this may not have been enough for Hurts.

‘Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse,’ said another Eagles fan.

‘Cursed season. I’ll see y’all next year,’ replied another.
