Liverpool release Diogo Jota biography 'Forever in our Hearts' with profits funding grassroots programme

Liverpool have released Forever in our Hearts, a new biography celebrating the life and legacy of Diogo Jota, with all of the club's profits funding a grassroots football programme to be established in his name.

It has been written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado, and traces Jota's journey from his early years in Portugal to becoming aPremier League star and firm Anfield favourite.
Delgado drew on extensive interviews with family members, friends, teammates and coaches. Contributors include Jota's wife Rute, his parents Isabel and Joaquim, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp and more than 90 others who knew him best.

The biography follows Jota through a period that culminated inPremier League success with Liverpool and UEFA Nations League glory with Portugal.
It also celebrates the bond he shared with his brother André, and reflects on the tragic events that followed his marriage to childhood sweetheart Rute, and the outpouring of grief from across the football world after the deaths of Diogo and André in July 2025.
Delgado said the willingness of those closest to the brothers to share their memories shaped the project.
"What moved me most was the generosity of those closest to them. Family members, teammates, coaches and friends shared their memories to help future generations understand the person Diogo was, and their love for both brothers can be felt on every page," he said.

The author added that his research left him struck by how strongly Jota was connected to the club.

The release is the latest way Liverpool have honoured their eternal No.20. Earlier this year, a permanent memorial to Diogo and André Silva was unveiled outside Anfield, giving supporters a space to reflect on the brothers' lives and their lasting impact on the football community.
