Good morning everyone –

The #MagicOfTheCup struck again on Tuesday night as Fleetwood Town beat Arsenal in the fourth round of the EFL Cup. Statistically speaking, it’s the biggest upset in the tournament’s history.

Here’s the penalty that won it for Fleetwood Town:

You might be wondering who hero is for Fleetwood Town. That’s Conor Haughey, the 19-year-old from Belfast who started once for the Town in League Two this season. What a moment for the young kid’s career.

What’s amazing is the poise he showed in penalty. Whereas the multi-million pound Bruno Guimaraes’s stutter-kick attempt was blocked, Haughey took a no-nonsense approach and slotted it into the top-left corner to secure his club’s 5-3 penalty shootout win.

This caps a remarkable few days for Tottenham Hotspur. For those who might’ve forgotten, let’s have a recap:

  • Saturday: Defeated Chelsea 2-0 at Stamford Bridge
  • Monday: Harry Kane wins the Ballon D’Or
  • Tuesday: Arsenal fall to Fleetwood Town in the EFL Cup

It’s shaping up to be a pretty good week.
