Wallace is one of 50 players nationally and one of 14 Big Ten players selected to the preseason list. The Big Ten had the most representatives of any conference.
This honor adds another major preseason recognition for Wallace, who was named Preseason All-Big Ten and a member of the Cheryl Miller Small Forward of the Year Award watch list.
Wallace becomes the fifth Illinois selection to the Naismith Trophy Women’s College Player of the Year watch list in program history.
Tauja Catchings and Susan Blauser were on the list in 1999-2000 and Makira Cook earned spots in 2023-24 and 2024-25.
Wallace is now the third Naismith watch-list selection under Shauna Green and the first Illini other than Cook to earn the honor during her coaching tenure.
