WNBA World Praises Angel Reese After Dream Force Game Seven of The Finals
Reese was a major contributor in the Dream’s 80-69 win over the Golden State Valkyries, and made history in the process. Legion Hoops noted, “Angel Reese just broke the WNBA record for most rebounds in a Finals series. Historic.”
Reese has 78 total rebounds in the series heading into Game 7. She finished Game 6 with 15 points, 14 rebounds, and 6 assists. Reese has re-joined Finals MVP conversations after being criticized following a couple of rough performances.
One fan used Reese’s strong performance to spotlight her rivalry with another popular star, saying, “Angel Reese really the best ever. No Caitlin Clark fan can slander her ever again.”
The Dream arguably won Game 6 in the first half, as the Valkyries’ perimeter defense struggled and watched multiple players hit big three-point shots. Several fans praised Reese for making a couple of threes during the run.
WNBA analyst Noa Dalzell said, “Angel Reese is shooting 44.4% from three in the playoffs, by the way.”
One fan said, “Angel Reese adding that 3-point shot took her game to a whole new level.”
Another fan said, “Angel Reese finding this level of success and familiarity behind the arc is scary for the league in 2028, man.”
Dream Head Coach Karl Smesko’s system relies on centers and forwards stretching the defense by making perimeter shots, something Reese struggled with early in her career.
Smesko worked with Reese to overhaul her shooting form to expand her range. Reese said it’s been a frustrating process at times, but she is getting more comfortable at shooting threes and should continue improving as her career progresses.
NBA analyst Ryan Kaminski was impressed with Reese’s overall game, saying, “Angel Reese bringing the energy, point forward playmaking, and showing off the development of the jumper.”
Dream stars Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray also stepped up in Game 6 to support Reese, and now the organization has the momentum heading back to the Bay Area for a historic game on Halloween.
