Bayern send clear message on signing Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland is not currently a transfer topic at Bayern Munich.
Multiple reports have been keen to link the Norwegian international with a switch to the Bundesliga champions.

However, FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen was clear that the Bavarians are satisfied with their offensive options.

Nothing will change FC Bayern’s mind on the matter – not even the impending outcome of Man City’s appeal against the 114 charges landed against them with the Premier League’s investigation into their financial wrongdoing.
“I spoke to Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen on the topic of Erling Haaland and the message coming from the club is pretty clear: FC Bayern won’t go for Erling Haaland,” Christian Falk exclusively informed CF Bayern Insider.
“He told me that, with Harry Kane, the club already has the best striker in world football. Not to mention a great offensive line overall!
“So Bayern Munich won’t move for Haaland – regardless of the outcome of the Sky Blues’ appeal following the Premier League’s investigation into their reported financial doping.”
And why should it?
In Harry Kane, Bayern Munich have the best striker in world football – the world’s leading footballer, if the Ballon d’Or voting results are anything to go by.
The England international is an exceptional footballer who can’t merely be defined by his goalscoring. He drops deep, he supports build-up and provides a playmaking interpretation of the central striker role of the likes of which arguably has never been witnessed before.
Yes, there is the age disparity, with seven years separating Haaland (26) from his Bayern counterpart (33). But in a league where Kane’s legs and body are protected, the England skipper’s twilight years look set to extend deeper into his 30s.

To a certain extent, Bayern have to be wary about any potential pursuit of the Manchester City hitman.
While unquestionably a freakishly brilliant goalscorer, signing the footballer would represent a significant shift for Bayern’s forward line. The wide options, whatever they look like in however many years, would need to take on more of a facilitating role for starters.
But there’s a wider issue that would need to be addressed, which is the drop in build-up quality and creativity. Who is stepping into Harry Kane’s boots to provide playmaking options from deep? Can anyone else ask questions of the opponent’s backline from within their own defensive half as Kane can?
It’s not as simple as replacing the Englishman’s goals. Goals, ultimately, come and go; it’s the Bayern Munich striker’s excellence on the ball that will be considerably more difficult to replace, never mind replicate elsewhere on the pitch.
