Enes Kanter is holding nothing back in his assessment of Stephanie White’s comments on the transgender situation.

Asked about whether transgender athletes should compete in women’s sports, Stephanie White opted out of taking a firm stance, stating:

“I don’t know that I would say that I’m educated enough from a scientific standpoint. I don’t ever believe that exclusion is an answer. I just don’t. I do think when we think about various levels of sport, various governing bodies of sport and things that go into that, like I said, I’m not—I’m not educated enough at the different levels. I know growing up, I played with the boys all the time.”

White later pushed back against the surrounding culture-war noise consuming the team, insisting, “The hate, the fearmongering, the divisiveness that’s trying to hijack our league will not win… Love will win. Grace will win. Humility will win and kindness will win. I stand by them… Everybody else can go to hell.”

However, Enes Kanter is having none of it.

Enes Kanter disagrees with Stephanie White’s stance on transgenders

Enes Kanter jumped straight on Stephanie White’s admission that she wasn’t educated on the issue, using it to tear into her logic. Calling her outright clueless, Kanter claimed several pro male players are eyeing the WNBA next, arguing that if eligibility lines get blurred, they might as well scrap the WNBA entirely.

Enes Kanter said: “I’ve been actually in touch with three European players, three G League players and two former NBA players. They said if they don’t change rules, we are all in. So at that point, why do we have a women’s league? Let’s get rid of the WNBA, let’s merge the two leagues, and let’s see what they can do in a men’s league.”

Stephanie White just wanted to stay out of the crosshairs, and honestly, who could blame her? Between taking heat for her rotations, managing massive expectations, she already has enough fires to put out.

Getting dragged into a no-win political debate was the last thing on her wishlist. Playing dumb and pleading a lack of scientific knowledge was a smart exit ramp to avoid unnecessary smoke.
