Quarterback Grant Wilson threw a 33-yard pass to Charlie Becker with 13 seconds remaining, which set up a 60-yard field goal for Paddy McAteer as time expired, tying the score at 16-16 and sending the game to overtime. There, the Hoosiers secured a 23-16 win after Wilson's game-winning touchdown pass to Becker on the first play of the period.

Who said college kickers are bad?

Indiana starting quarterback Josh Hoover, who's battling a shoulder injury, was benched for Wilson to start the second half after struggling for the second consecutive game. Wilson completed 9-of-17 passes for 156 yards and a touchdown after replacing Hoover, who was 8-of-19 for 119 yards with a touchdown and an interception through two quarters.

A loss would've put a dent in Indiana's College Football Playoff hopes after winning the national championship last season. Indiana has remaining games against Southern California, Washington and Purdue.

The kick was only McAteer's fourth attempt of the season. McAteer, the usual kickoff specialist, was 1-for-3 on the year before tying the score on a 60-yard field goal.

McAteer's kick was also a redeeming point for Indiana's special teams, with starting kicker Nico Radicic going 2-for-4 on field goals in regulation. Drzwiecki, meanwhile, was 3-for-3 in regulation.

Indiana stays unbeaten against ranked opponents under third-year coach Curt Cignetti, keeping its hopes of another CFP run alive and well thanks to a wild finish.
