Is Breece Hall playing today? Injury update, Braelon Allen start-or-sit advice for Week 8

· Yahoo Sports

The New York Jets have not had the services of running back Breece Hall since Week 3.

That’s because Hall has been dealing with a quadriceps injury that has forced him to miss four games in a row.

Hall showed some progress last week by returning to practice and turning in two limited session, but he was ultimately ruled out after getting a questionable tag.

The Jets running back once again showed progress this week by practicing on a limited basis three times before once again getting the questionable designation.

Here’s what we know about his chances of suiting up on Sunday in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Braelon Allen is set to start for the Jets once again this week, although Rapoport did not say if Hall would be active or not in his report.

“Jets RB Braelon Allen is slated to start again for the Jets, with Breece Hall still dealing with that quad injury. Allen has two 100-yard games as a starter, averaging nearly 5 yards per carry,” Rapoport said.

The fact that Allen is starting means that Hall will at be limited, at best, if he is active, so he should be left out of lineups if he does indeed suit up.

Allen has been phenomenal over the last four games in place of Hall.

In those four contests, Allen has ripped off a pair of 100-yard games and has scored one touchdown. He also hasn’t seen fewer than 16 touches in each game.

As a result, Allen ranks as RB16 overall in that span, according to Fantasy Pros, which makes him an RB2 play and every-week starter.
