Our friends from the FanDuel Sportsbook have opened the betting lines for Week 9 around the National Football League, and the Vikings have opened as a 3-point underdog to the Buffalo Bills for their Monday Night Football matchup. The over/under for this one is currently sitting at 46.5 points.
The Vikings’ lack of offensive prowess finally caught up to them in Week 8 against their NFC North rivals from Detroit. Minnesota held the high-flying Lions’ offense to just 19 points, but their inability to put points of their own on the board kept their defense on the field for extended periods of time, and eventually Detroit’s run game wore them down en route to a 19-15 victory over the Vikings at Ford Field. The loss dropped the Vikings to 6-1 on the year and allowed the 1972 Miami Dolphins to pop the champagne as the NFL’s last undefeated team took their first loss.
The Bills also come into this one with a record of 6-1, and they’ve been getting it done with offense, as they’ll come into Week 9’s matchup with the top offense in the NFL. In Week 8, they visited the Baltimore Ravens in what was supposed to be a marquee quarterback matchup between Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson. Jackson went out early in the contest with a thumb injury, and the Bills pretty much ran away with things after that as they blew out the Ravens by a score of 36-10. The Bills will come into this one on a three-game winning streak.
So, in a matchup between the NFL’s #1 offense and the league’s #1 defense, it’s the offense that will come into the game as the favorite. We’ll obviously have a lot to talk about with this one as the game approaches.
