Yaxel Lendeborg has been on an absolute tear to start his NBA career, and now the Golden State Warriors rookie is sharing that success with the person who helped make it possible. In his first YouTube video, Lendeborg surprised his mom, Yissel Raposo, with a brand-new house.

The video shows Lendeborg standing in front of the home with a gift box in hand as his family gathers around. Before the big reveal, he admitted he was feeling the nerves.

“I’m nervous now. On behalf of everybody that came to show up, welcome home,” Lendeborg said, before inviting his mom to step inside and “test it out.”

The gesture means even more given everything his mom has done for him. Lendeborg has credited her for putting him on the path to the NBA, and he opened up about it after the Warriors selected him in June.

“[My mom] pretty much put me on this path,” Lendeborg said. “She always kept that extra chip on my shoulder and extra motivation.”

Raposo, a former basketball player for the Dominican Republic national team, stepped in to help get her son back on track academically when he was ineligible as a high school freshman. Lendeborg did not start playing organized basketball until his senior year of high school and had to grind through three years of junior college and two seasons at UAB before transferring to Michigan.

That path led him to a national championship with the Wolverines, First-Team All-American honors and a spot as the No. 11 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft.

Lendeborg has wasted no time making his mark in Golden State. The 23-year-old forward has been averaging around 21 points per game and recently joined Wilt Chamberlain in the history books with a career night against the LA Clippers. He followed that up with 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in Thursday’s 120-100 win over the Miami Heat.

His strong play has helped the Warriors rattle off six straight wins after an 0-3 start, improving to 6-3 on the season.

Now, his mom has a new home to watch him from.

Lendeborg and the Warriors will look to extend their winning streak when they host the Orlando Magic on Saturday.
