UNC basketball reaches out to guard in transfer portal

As North Carolina continues to work through the transfer portal, they are hoping to finalize the roster for Michael Malone's first season.
The deadline to enter the transfer portal is officially here, but teams can still reach out to players in the portal in hopes of landing them. The latest player to hear from North Carolina is another guard.

Per Sam Kayser, the Tar Heels are among the teams that have reached out to St. John's guard Joson Sanon. Despite North Carolina landing a pair of guards recently with Matt Able and Terrence Brown, there's still a need for some depth there.
That's where Sanon could come into play.

The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 7.9 points and 2.4 rebounds per game this season. Prior to St. John's, he played at Arizona State and averaged 11.9 points per game the season prior.
