Earlier today, the ACC announced the Friday Night schedule for the conference this year. You can see the full list here.

In that announcement, however, came a pretty big update: one of Miami’s Friday Night games has been changed to a Saturday! Which game? As the title of the piece suggests, it’s the late November home game against Virginia Tech.

With this update, Miami goes from having 4 weeknight games this season, to 3 weeknight games. In an interesting quirk, the trio of weeknight games are the first 3 games of the season: Friday September 4th at Stanford, Thursday September 10th vs FAMU, and Friday September 18th at Wake Forest.

This is a minor update with a major impact. Having that many weeknight games is undesirable for fans, so moving the VT game to a Saturday means something. Also, it removes another short week game prep situation for the team, which is preferable as well.

All in all, this move to have the VT game on a Saturday instead of Friday is a GREAT thing for Miami, and I’m happy the ACC did this. IDK why they did this, cuz they don’t usually cut us any favors in terms of scheduling, but I’m grateful for it nonetheless.

So, if you had your calendar marked already, make the update.

Miami. Virginia Tech. Now on SATURDAY. November 21st. Kick time TBA later this season.
